Shipping Process
As dog trainers, we recognize that pets are an integral part of the family. We also know that sending your furry friends overseas or even domestically can bring on a wave of anxiety. Our commitment is to ensure that the travel process is as smooth and seamless as possible for both you and your four-legged family members. We collaborate with nearly 99% of the world’s largest and smallest airlines to guarantee that your pets fly safely and comfortably to their destination. While the airlines are responsible for loading pets onto the aircraft, we work closely with partners like IPATA to regularly discuss best practices and available spaces with our airline partners.
Your puppy will depart from the airport aboard one of these airlines: American Airlines, Pet Airways Logistics, United, or Continental Airlines. Travel takes place in a climate-controlled cabin area specifically for pets, housed in an airline-approved carrier. Before the journey, you’ll receive a flight number, an estimated arrival time, and a reference number that uniquely identifies your puppy. We take care of all the arrangements; you simply pick up your puppy at the airport—similar to picking up another person. For convenience, you’ll need the reference or air-bill number, or we can have the puppy delivered to your doorstep. Shipping is designed to be safe and stress-free for the puppy. Depending on your location, you can expect to receive your puppy within 5 to 6 hours, either on the same day or the following day after shipping. In my experience, shipping dogs has been safe for over 10 years. I always aim for non-stop flights to ensure comfort. From what the new owners tell me, their puppies arrive happy and relaxed, not stressed at all.
We prefer using airlines for puppy transport because it’s the fastest and safest method to get our puppies from us to you, especially if you’re located far away or in another state. The puppies travel in airline-approved plastic kennels, which we customize based on the puppy’s weight and the journey’s distance. They reside in a specially climate-controlled and pressurized compartment on the plane, similar to the cabin, and not mixed in with passenger luggage.
Our shipping kennels clearly display colorful “LIVE ANIMALS” and “UP” stickers. We meticulously label the crates with the destination airport, confirmation number, customer phone number, and address. To prepare a puppy for shipping, we play with them in the crate beforehand, ensuring they are familiar with it. They rarely show any signs of fear. We provide ample food and water in the shipping crate. This ensures that they receive enough moisture during transit. In the unlikely event that the puppy is delayed at an airport overnight due to flight issues, we want to make sure they have enough to eat and drink. While traveling isn’t particularly hard on them, we want to minimize their time in transit. That’s why we always look for the most direct routes and opt for direct flights whenever possible. We keep an eye on weather conditions at the destination and only proceed with shipping when we’re confident it’s safe for the puppy. We prioritize your puppy’s health above all else and will not ship if we believe weather conditions may pose any risk to their well-being. Typically, we ship puppies from Monday to Saturday and guarantee a safe, healthy arrival. We will NOT ship if we assess that weather conditions could be hazardous for your puppy. After arrival, your new puppy may take a few days to adjust to their new surroundings. Many people report that their puppies reach right out of the shipping crate and settle in as if they’ve always belonged there.
NANNY SHIPPING
We can also deliver your new puppy directly into your arms. We have a reliable airline nanny who will fly with your puppy right to you. This is the safest, most reliable, and least stressful way for your new puppy to be delivered to you. A puppy nanny takes the puppy un-bored with them, and they can give them the attention they need. We want the best possible care for your puppy!
DUE DILIGENCE
All puppies are flown with ice water, bedding, and food attached to their crate if needed. Shipping varies, but we prefer to use American, United, or Continental Airlines. They are wonderful with animals and have new planes with compartments made especially for kittens, puppies, birds, insects, monkeys, etc.
HEALTH CERTIFICATE
These are required for all pets traveling via air. This is to ensure that all pets do not share anything more than a ride. All airlines require this certificate. Yes, it is mandatory. Please be waiting for your puppy at home or at the airport at the given time. Usually, the puppy is available 1 hour after the flight’s arrival time & a valid ID such as a driver’s license is needed for pick up. We appreciate knowing that the puppy has arrived safely & at home with you, so please call or email us as soon as you get the chance. Don’t forget to take your puppy to your veterinarian for the regular arrival health check-up within 48 hours of arrival. A follow-up call is placed 24 hours after you have received your new puppy to ensure everything is perfect, to answer any questions you have & to measure your satisfaction.
